Courtnie Brown

I am a creative soul that has been making art for over 30 years. Some of my favorite art forms include pottery, crochet, and sewing. I love turning unique ideas into handmade treasures.
In my free time, I enjoy finding beautiful treasures at thrift stores, geocaching/nature, and playing with my nieces.
My journey into the Art world began in 2017, when I started first pottery class with my Grandmother as a hobby. The joy of learning to make pottery sparked her passion to create colorful and fun pieces of art through hand-building and wheel-throwing that continued to grow over the years. Working with clay brings a calming peace, in which I intentionally slow myself down, to connect on deeper levels (mind, body, and spirit). Not only does the clay alleviate the pain of my aching joints caused by Rheumatoid Arthritis, it also soothes my soul. Every piece of pottery I make is an extension of my kind and colorful spirit.
Just as all my other passions began, I eventually stumbled into the world of crocheting as a new hobby via my ADHD need to learn something new. Over time, I have made several different tops for myself, friends, and other various people upon request. With every piece I make, I love the craft more and more.
My most recent decision has been to learn one of my mothers favorite hobbies of sewing. Not only do I get some fun mother daughter bonding, but I have learned to create fun, flowy boho tops too! Can't wait to see what I learn to make next.
